According to two local audi shops and a few members here, suction is normal as it is a closed system. My A8 quattro has suction at idle when I remove oil fill cap and dipstick plug thingy. Runs , drives, and idles perfect with no codes. So I am going with the hope that this is a normal operating condition.

Thanks in advance. if in actuality there is too much oil, it can be harmful in several ways. hhowever, the electronic oil sensor is notoriously inaccurate. you can buy a dipstick or take it back to the dealer to see if in fact there really is too much oil. it is a simple fix to drain whatever needs to be removed.
